Hi Everyone,

I am interested in doing an externship/internship on a Med-Surg floor. Do you have any advices? Has anyone ever done an externship/internship? Could you recommend a good program in NY? Having said all of that..Is it worth it-considering the nursing shortage..I'm in Nur 2..I have 1 more yr to go.

I don't know of any in New York, but Mayo Clinic in Rochester MN has one that has been established for many years. I did it several years ago, and it was great. You get to live with about 150 other students, and have a lot of areas to choose from. I think it was worth it - I learned a lot and got to see how other hospitals were run. Here is the link:
