Unhappy leg cramps and varicose veins

Hi, I知 a new nurse and it seems I知 not the only one who gets calf cramps while I sleep after two or three 12-hour shifts.

They generally feel crappy anyway the first day or two I have off otherwise anyway.

I致e been using the anti-embolism knee highs at the hospital where I work, but 1) they don稚 last long and 2) I知 not sure that it is enough.

Any suggestions anyone?

Yikes!!!!!! Leg cramps, I hate them. I use gel soles for my shoes to help absorb shock, increase fluid (because you are busy and are probally not drinking enough water?) and take an ibruprofen before sleep. Seems to help but still afflicted with them sometimes. The general theory says to put your feet up (at lunch time?) but that hasn't worked for me. Good luck in your new nursing career.
