i'm precepting but...

i'm precepting this male student, he's on his last semester in nursing school. i think he's doing a good job but i feel uncomfortable working with him because he's a male. how can i tell the education dept that i want out without looking incompetent and without making the student feel that he did something wrong.

Why are you uncomfortable? What does his being a guy have anything to do with it?
