when doctor say they want stool clear after the prep what do they mean? do they want liquid stool or white stool?

I go by this - the stool should not be dark, it should be clear or yellow looking, you might also have some lil' black flecks in the liquid but that should be okay - just as long as it is not dark brown or pieces of stool still seen.

Our orders generally say "give enema 's until clear" meaning that the fluid of the enema is returned "clear" with No stool in it. May have mucous, yellowish in color most of time. If pt has had a oral prep and is still having stools ,we let Dr know and generally receive a order to give a enema before they go down for the colon exam.

The rectal output should be clear like water, occasionally w/light yellow flecks in it, or as scant sediment.
