Hello all,

Alas, it is time for me to obtain my quarterly ceus. (I try to take at least one ceu class every 3-4 months.) However, my employer doesn't seem to be offering anything. So, I drove to another hospital and asked if they offered classes, they recommended me to a local college.

Why not ask nurses who want to improve their patient care. Where do you like to obtain your ceus? Which companies or books do you prefer and why?

Perhaps if we share this information, we can help each other.

i have done everything from the online courses that are 1 or 2 ceu's, to books that are worth 30.

i sometimes go to seminars, but with my limited mobility and pain issues this last couple of years, i no longer can do that. plus i have little children to care for, and to spend a whole day at a conference is too much. i do enjoy going to them though. plus cost is an issue. i've attended some that are put on by my work.

i do enjoy the books (i think its western schools?) that have the large number of ceu's. they have a lot of topics and it's relatively cheap to get your yearly quota. they usually run from thirty dollars on up. not bad for all your ceu's in one sitting.

i like branching out and getting subjects i don't know much about. and just this year, pain management is now a requirement for our state. i took it last year, so i'm good until my next license renewal.
