Yes I can answer that. Fluids consisting of Dextrose and hypotonic saline provide more water than is required for excretion of salt thus they are useful as hydrating solutions. Some uses you might see are : assess kidney status prior to using electrolyte replacment solutions,hydration for medical and surgical pts.pts that need diuresis that also are dehydrated.
