Re: TCU aug. 08

Just a question for those of you who have been admitted...I am looking at applying to TCU for the class beginning in 2010. I live in DFW and have a family, so I do not want to travel for my clinicals. How much of a say do you have in choosing your clinical site?

Well, you get to rank the clinicals sites you are willing to go to from most desired to least. But....DFW sites are highly competitive and it's all according to how you rank. In other words, the top candidates get the top clinical sites first and so forth.....

I'll be staying in the DFW area for clinicals. It's getting very real now, especially after borrowing an ...load of money! Anybody else? LOL
Can't wait to meet everyone. By the way....have a great summer!

Re: TCU aug. 08

I just accepted my Stafford loans this week (gulp). Waiting on them to post my HELP loan so I can accept that too. At least year 2 isn't as expensive......I am really excited now, and impatient! I wish it was x-mas so that our first semester was over!!!

So did u take the Stafford for the $20,500? Cuz with that, plus the $1500 deposit we paid, you only have to borrow another $10,000 for the first year total of $32,000. That's what Debi in financial aid told me anyway. So that means you will have an extra $18,000 left out of your Grad Plus to live on, right? I accepted the Stafford & a HELP loan of $10,000 (the interest rate is a little lower than the Grad Plus loan), but that is all I'm borrowing. I think some other peeps are borrowing more from private lenders.......

Re: TCU aug. 08

Done the Staffords and waiting on my 28K Grad Plus. My wife will work some, so hopefully I will not need any other loans. Borrowing this much money adds to the stress just a bit.

Re: TCU aug. 08

i'm 23 and single so i don't really want much of a savings or wife so i'll have to take out a butt load of loans. I'd rather have a little extra than eat noddles for 28 months. i'll need for than 18.000 to the year just for a gas if the smart keeps going the current trend. Can't wait to start school (the day before my birthday), it's going be ruff but I think i'll love it in the end.
