Would any SRNAs tell me how much time you spend on an average week for: a) the primarily or entirely didactic semesters, and (b)the more heavily clinical semesters?

How many hours outside of class per week do youv spend studying, preparing for clinicals, etc.?

Not to be a Jack***, But there is no way you can overstudy in any program. You have lives in your hands and you owe it to them to know all that you possibly can to provide the safest anesthetic possible. I am interested in why you want to know...
But, in my front loaded program- I typically spend 8 hrs a day in class monday through friday, then study for three additional hours. Weekends are for catch up so- 10-16 hours on saturdays, 8-10 hours on sunday.

We are told not to expect any fewer hours as we transition to full time clinicals.

I wasn't implying in any way that there should be some cap on the amount of study time that an SRNA should have, or what would be acceptable for me. In fact, if I get into school, I look forward to handing the program a "blank check" on my time, because I'm really excited to do it. I am very interested in the discipline regardless of the answers I might receive on this thread. It's just that I have no idea what to expect and I was asking so that I might get a flavor of things, and be ready to prepare myself mentally for the challenge and the sacrifice--not to see what others things I can squeeze in, or how little I could do to cut it in a program.

That said, thanks for your response. It sounds like you work extremely hard, and I agree with you, you have people's lives in your hands.

I do not think that Bridge was asking if you could overstudy in this program, I believe this person just wants an idea of what current SRNA's study habits are like, and if it will be intense throughout the whole program (which I am sure it will be!)

I just started my program and it's frontloaded. I spend 16-20 hours per week in class and spend the rest of the time studying, working on projects, etc. To say studying is time consuming is an understatement. I study all the time, probably 40 plus hours/week and I still feel like I need to devote more time to it because the bar is set pretty high. I am not complaining though. This is what I signed up for.
