Welcome to YOUR forum as premium/platinum members...where you can share your thoughts, heart, and soul via your poetry and lyrics that you have created. I would imagine, as members and as nurses, we have tons of material out there, just waiting to be shared....be it a poem/song kicking around in your head or laying unviewed on a dusty shelf somewhere. Nurses, in general, are very creative...comes with our territory. We are also people who come to think and feel about a wide range of things due to our past and current experiences....sometimes, we even feel these things rather deeply. The range of material can be vast.
Some possible events/ideas to get folks started:
witnessing the birth of a child for the first time
holding a preemie in your hands
life and death of a patient or family member and how that touched the soul
the feeling of isolation at school, work, or at home
the joy of a season change
the beginning or ending of a relationship
the throes of a depressive time
personal growth and the change we go through
the sharing of wisdom to a younger generation
the happiness of a day off from work
the contentment or angst being a parent
a career change and what the future brings
being young or growing older
the joy of a good cup of coffee (eh hem, one of my favorites

)
et cetera
If you have several poems/lyrics to share, devote a different thread to each one of them to give them the individual attention that they so well deserve. Let each one shine on its own. It also makes it easier for members to express their appreciation for each individual piece.
Again, the description of this forum is:
Description: This forum is for our premium members who would like to share some of their creativity via poetry/song writing with other premium members. It does not have to be nursing related. The requirements are few...such as its needing to follow TOS guidelines and that it needs to be "original", created by the members themselves. If the material should be copyrighted, it needs to clearly indicate this by including (Copyright © year copyrighted) at the bottom of the post.
Again, welcome to your forum. Just another way allnurses.com wishes to express a warm "thank you" for your support and participation on the board as members.
You make the board what it is.
