This Little Light Of Mine

One night as I knelt by my bed

I looked up toward the ceiling and said

God, if You can use me go ahead

I'm no good tome this way

I tried taking my life by my hand

But was prevented by an unknown hand

I didn' expect to awaken to a brand new day

When I got in my bed my body to lay

This little light of mine

I did let it shine

This little light of mine

I did let it shine

This little light of mine

I did let it shine

Let it shine every day every way

But God had other ideas in mind

They were not of the human kind

When I awakened the very next morn

A brand new me was born

No longer did I want to die

Instead I wanted to live a life divine

No longer do I fear, worry, or have anxiety

He replaced them with patience, gloryand mercy for others to see

This little light of mine

I did let it shine

This little light of mine

I did let it shine

This little light of mine

I did let it shine

Let it shine every day every way

He also gave me kindness, goodness, and gentleness

Then thru trials He gave me faith and believing His promises

Of always being by my side no matter the trials or distress

He always fulfilled His promises

Thru life's pain He gave humility

Pride is gone, more like Him I can be

I love Him so much, He is everything to me

And home to Him I'm looking forward to be

And is why

Some say you do not have to abide

But He says there is no easy ride

Some say let others be His voice

But He said He gave us all free choice

Others say there's still time for looking away

But He says no, time is wasting

Then you too will be able to sing
