Old Feb 21, 2008 07:30 AM - Thank you for encouraging me because I have been trying to get in nursing school for over 2 years now. So now I'm taking the shorter road and going to get into LPN school. I have taking the test 3 times and could not get the score of 12.9 for the English part but I will be able to take the test at the GED school tomorrow and all I have to pass for them is the Math and Reading so wish me good luck on my dream. Congratulation on your degree Nurse

Old Feb 22, 2008 09:08 AM - I am the mom of a junior in high school. She's not 100% sure what she wants to do, but so far shes settled on Pediatric nursing. Shes in a Health Academy at school where she is supposed to be certified as a CNA before she graduates, so she knows a little of what nursing is about. But I as a mom am trying to find articles and postings (like this one) that I can pass on to her to look at that might help her solidify her decision (also taking into consideration that a career decision can possibly change - several times).
But thanks for the "inspirational note"!

Old Feb 23, 2008 05:36 AM - I have applied to sit the entrance exam for the 2nd time. I am feeling very nervous this time round, even more so than the 1st. My results were satisfactory the 1st time round, but i didnt get accepted. Reading through some of your stories, i am slowly but surely gaining that bit of confidence, that i can do it, and your stories spur me on. Great news guys on a job well done

Old Feb 23, 2008 12:42 PM - THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. I graduate in May. KNOCK ON WOOD! I have my first test of my last semester coming up on monday and I am terrified. Everyday I wake up and say this will be a good day but then my doubt overwhelms me. For the most part i just don't believe in myself. I don't feel like I could ever become a nurse. I don't feel like I will ever be smart enough to help my patients. I want this so bad but im scared of the unknown. Thank you for your article. It is inspiring.

Old Mar 25, 2008 12:28 AM - I had an epiphany a couple of weeks ago,. I realized that if I gave myself a chance to succeed, I just might succeed. I'm almost 36, and just got accepted to the clinical part of nursing and finishing up my prereqs this semester. I too, had to take a "Developmental Math", because I hardly remember anything from 15 years before. One of the biggest surprises of my life, I'm actually good at Math and now I'm taking precalculus that's not needed in nursing, for fun?!?! Just remember to give yourself a chance to discover what you can do with the talents you have, it's always worth it.

Old Mar 26, 2008 04:37 PM - I had 5 children when I went to nursing school ranging from 3 years old to 13 years old. I made it and you can too. All it takes is determination and to always remember there is light at the end of the tunnel. Good Luck! I know you will make an awesome nurse!

Old Mar 26, 2008 04:47 PM - Hey gerrihorse! Don't give up if nursing is your dream. Get a tutor to help you through the subjects you have difficulty with. We all have a least one thing we are not good at and struggle with that is part of life. You can do it so dig in and enjoy the ride!
