I will be done with nursing school in august and I was wondering of hospitals will hire in new grads to the SICU or if they prefer some other experience. Thanks.

That depends on the hospital, some will and some won't. If I were you, I would just try to get in touch with some nurse recruiters from hospitals in which you may be interested. Just ask what areas are open to new grads and and what kind of training is offered or what experience is necessary.

I graduated in May and went straight into SICU with a lot of orientation. I just got out of orientation about 2-3 weeks ago. I love it, but it's a lot to learn. I still feel like a total idiot most of the time. It's well worth it though.
