ICU new grads:how to orient/what to teach preceptors on how to teach new grads

For the first time, our mixed ICU (medical, surgical, cardiac, neuro, trauma, etc. plus some concentrated care patients mixed in) of 24 beds, is hiring new grad RNs in large numbers. We are having a lot of problems, finding that our current systems of orienting is not working! We are forming a task force to try to figure out how to better orient new grads to ICU, as well as how to better teach the ICU nurses how to precept. A search of the internet has been pretty much fruitless.
Anyone have a good program in place which they could share? Is there something in print, any literature or a structured plan, which we could try as our model? Thanks
e-mail me please at cm.conley@worldnet.att.net or shamadoosky@netscape.net as alternative e-mail address.
