How can I switch hospitals, yet stay on day shift?!?!

I really want to switch hospitals, but I really, really am a day-shifter. I was on nights for 6 months and the shear thought of having to stay awake all night long again terrifies me!
Are nurses basically required to work nights as a new hire?? How can I get around this??

Apply for the dayshift position.

I've been a nurse for 2 1/2 years, and had 3 jobs. I've never worked nights.

I'm now at a major pedi hospital and took a day shift position.

Sometimes its just right place, right time.

Good luck!

Most hospitals have switched over to 12 hour shifts. If the same ratios are kept for both shifts, then half of nurses there work day shift. The odds are pretty good for you.
