There is special tubing--check your facility's policy, there should be specific instructions.
We spike a 500-cc bag of normal saline with the transducer tubing and put it in a pressure bag, inflate bag. Flush the line completely. The tubing has a cable...connect that to the cable that leads to the monitor. There are transducer holders to hold that section of the tubing that has the zeroing port; it slides in there. Connect the tubing to the distal port of the CVP.
So now you have transducer tubing that is spiked into a bag (under pressure), stabilized in the transducer holder, connected via cable to the monitor, and connected to the distal port of the CVP.
