OR nursing and MS

I'm going to be interviewing for an OR internship next week. It's 8 months long with an offer for a fulltime position after it's completed. I know that the OR means long hours on your feet. Currently my MS symptoms are under control and not a problem at all, but I'm also a psych nurse and spend most of my times filling out paperwork.

Any OR nurses with MS have any suggestions? What do you do when you have "MS hugs" at work? (For some reason I'm getting one right now, although I haven't had one in 6 months). Obviously I can't take a flexeril (which is what I do at home).

I'm really concerned that the stress will excarebate my symptoms.

Re: OR nursing and MS

No first hand advice on the OR but I have known nurses with MS on almost ever floor imaginable so I'd say go for it. The beauty of nursing is that you can always switch gears later on. Best wishes to you. Jules
