I have always been an believer in that nurses are real human beings and not super heros. Nurses have lives of their own and their own problems. I think some people on this board forget that and think that nurses are "professionals" 24/7/365. It bugs me that some nurses are not open minded when it comes to mental illness. While I have no problems with mental illnesses, it doesn't make me better than any of you. If anything you all are probably stronger than anyone who considers themselves "normal". Sorry to interrupt your discussion I just thought you guys deserved to be appaulded.

Kris thank you! It is so wonderful to hear this. You know, when I went on "sick leave" I was given 12 weeks before they would fill my position. In that time I heard from ONE person I worked with, and that was someone I'd known previously.
Sad really. Anyone who has surgery or some physical illness at least gets flowers.
I know, I know, people don't want the person to feel uncomfortable.
But the only reason we feel uncomfortable is because no one talks about it!
So that is why your note means so much to me.
