Any one with a spinal cord stimulator?

I was wondering if there were any other nurses here who have a spinal cord stimulator? I got my perm. implant in Dec. and it has far exceeded my expectations. I have some physical limitations and want to go back to work but so far haven't found employment.

I fell on the ice and injured my back, tore the medial meniscus in my knee, and broke a toe. I had to have the knee surgically repaired and ended up with RSD or AKA CRPS...chronic regional pain syndrome.

In 2006, I had 12 sympathetic nerve blocks, faccet injections, SI joint injection, pyriformis injections, and went through a chronic pain rehab program.

Anyone else with a SCS? Were you able to go back to work?

Re: Any one with a spinal cord stimulator?

I have had a SCS since October 2006 for RSD from a talar dome fracture. I LOVE my SCS!!! I am going back to work next month and am very excited. I could never do general med/surg or OR because of the walking/standing involved. However, working in the ICU with one or two patients will be ideal.
