New Unit Manager

I just accepted a position as a Unit Manager at a LTCF. Any Unit Managers out there with advice? I will be sent for Corporate Training for Unit Managers. I have lots of experience in ICU, OR, and some in LTC. Any information, what to expect, etc...would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Re: New Unit Manager

Well, the "Golden Rule" is a good place to start.

But then you have to remember, you can't be everyone's friend and no matter what you do, just everyone isn't going to like you.

Make your decisions based on facts, not heresay.

Learn the State Regs backwards, forwards, upside down and inside out!

That's just a sliver of what you need to know!
