Smile Question about legal nurse consulting?

HI

I lost my first message. So if it appears--

My question was regarding legal nurse consulting. Are there any nurses with experience in this field and where did they get their education? Recently I received information online regarding a course - 6 day session or 40 hour home study course.

Re: Question about legal nurse consulting?

Thank you for moving my question. I am new to allnurses.com and this was my first entry. I am surprised how many different topics and discussions are available. I have been in and out of different areas this evening.

Re: Question about legal nurse consulting?

I am a LNC.. but I went to college every other weekend for 1 year for my certificate. It is difficult to get a job on the east coast. Heard the west coast and Texas and Florida use LNC's a lot. Good luck.

Hello, mariee and Welcome to Allnurses.com

I want to thank suzanne for moving your thread to the Legal Nurse forum.

Many here are experienced in the field of legal nurse consulting. There are different avenues of obtaining the education as well. I received education via the
Vickie Milazzo CLNC Program

Some do so throughKaplan

Others through Keiser College LNC program

And, the American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants Online Course have just developed this program online.

There are other avenues. And, some practice as LNCs without formal training in the field.

You need be an RN and should have at least 5 years experience in clinical nursing to actually have the minimal experience necessary to practice effectively as an LNC.

Please contact me here in this thread or via private message for any more information.

Hello, DianneLNC and Welcome to Allnurses.com and the Legal Nursing forum

So, are you actively practicing as an LNC now? Also, upon graduation/completion of your program, do you have an official designated title now? Which program?

Many LNCs in Texas and Florida, yes. And, much work for all. But, I know of many on the East coast as well and they are just as busy.

How have you been marketing yourself?
