I am only working 16 hours a week on a busy Med surge Gyn (with Oncology) floor (my choice) and will devote the other days of the week to my "new career". I have seven years experience and am a "type -A go getter kind of woman" who would love this challenge!!! I work for a large Level 3 trauma teaching hospital and have been exposed to many a "teachable" moment with the residents.I love to scour through the charts and figure things out..this seems like a perfect career to do that and combine the two. My other question is:if I am willing to not be a "stay behind the scenes" girl how realistic is it for me to market other markets and states? I live close to the SC border so NC and SC are close...but can one expect to do this via fax and fedex to other states??? Thank you in advance for any advice. I am most grateful.
P.S. Siri, please pm me with the software info when you get a moment! Thanks!
Hello, ahoskrn, and welcome to allnurses.com
It is great to have you with us.
And, good to read of your plans to be an LNC. So, you are already signed up for the CLNC course for next year? I think you will enjoy the course. It is excellent basic preparation for the career. The 2-day marketing post-course will be very informational as well.
The rest will be up to you!! Marketing is the hardest part of the job, as you probably are already aware. I think the time you have set aside to market and/or develop your business will be fine. You will have to adjust that time schedule as you get busier.
Yes, you may market to attorneys outside your immediate area, even other states. Now, what do you mean, "other markets"?
I utilize snail mail, email, fax, telephone, etc., when working on my cases.
Good luck and check back with us as you can. (I sent you a private message).
