Re: Legal Nurse Certification

Just out of curiosity, why do you want an LNC program taught by trial attorneys?

The LNC's strength is her/his knowledge of the healthcare profession. This is the important asset that she/he can offer to the attorneys. It is important for the aspiring LNC to learn how to effectively utilize that knowledge to assist in legal cases. This can best be taught by nurses and experienced LNC's. The LNC's focus is not the legal aspect of the case.....that is the attorney's responsibility.

Re: Legal Nurse Certification

I understand not wanting to spend a lot of money on the education part. Personally I feel that the money is worth it, not only for the actual education but for the followup assistance after the courses are completed.

I've seen complaints from others that took "cheaper" courses but weren't able to get the mentoring that they needed to help with business and marketing issues.

They also had questions regarding report formatting and info to include in reports because the courses they took were not as thorough.

You get what you pay for. Arm yourself with the best tools you can afford.

Re: Legal Nurse Certification

Hello, Litigation LNC and welcome to allnurses.com

Good to have you with us.

I agree with tnbutterfly and RN1989.

Most of my time mentoring new LNCs is spent with those who took courses where they did not receive an adequate base regarding marketing and report writing. Most are very disappointed in their educative entities.

Be careful, research a little more. Of course, the final decision is yours to make. Just be totally informed before you make that final decision.

Good luck and we hope you enjoy allnurses.com!!!
