I have a few questions...
Is there plenty of work available for LNC's? Is there a lot of competition?
How many nurses get LNC accreditation and don't utilize it?
How's the pay?
avazmom...Thanks for starting this thread!

Hello, mo-mo,
You have plenty of nursing experience to do this.
Yes, there is plenty of work available. Just remember you do not have to market in your own immediate area.
As for the competition? I've never had any, believe it or not. I've been full-time for several years and yet to run across another LNC who already secured a client to whom I was marketing. I suppose it depends on the area.
As for how many become educated and never utilize this? MANY. Many.....many do this and don't use it. Many different reasons as well. It is a difficult career to get a foot hold for so many and they often become disillusioned. Others find out this career choice wasn't what they expected. Still others go into this career for the wrong reason(s). Many become educated and utilize this in hospital as case managers, QC, assist the hospital legal team, etc.
IMHO? The pay is excellent. We don't really discuss numbers here on the public boards. But, it is absolutely possible to be financially secure working as an LNC.
