Re: considering CLNC

Thanks SIRI. I agree that being able to market yourself is a great asset, but for those of us with little business experience or knowledge deficit in this area, a strong support system starting out would seem worth a second look. In essence, the LNC is an independant contractor for the legal system. i,e, sole proprietorship business venture. It's one thing to become a legal nurse consultant and another to be successful at marketing yourself in that role. Can it really be as easy as looking in the phonebook and calling attorneys? The only reason I'm asking is that this is a major investment and I want to know that the return on this investment will be worth it. Thanks again for your time.

No, it's not as easy as looking in the phonebook, making a couple of calls, and you're a success. It's a lot harder than that.

And, as I said, I believe finding someone to help guide you ..... especially in the beginning ..... is a good thing to have.

Re: considering CLNC

Certainly.

I have been practicing as LNC for several years. I started out sending marketing letters in the very beginning (still do this as I need).

But, the interviews came with phone calls. After 3 phone calls, I landed my first interview. And, had 3 interviews with the next 3 calls. My first case came after an attorney found my name on a listserv with AALNC and contacted me. At the beginning, most of my cases were local. Since then, many come from out-of-state. Phone call and letter marketing as well as word-of-mouth and written references from other attorneys.

Read through the thread entitled, Legal Nurse Consulting and Marketing Ideas, for helpful advice regarding marketing tips.

I hope I've answered your questions. If you have other questions, please post in this forum.

Thanks for your advice. I have read the marketing ideas and will forge on. I knew I would have to perservere, just wasn't sure how long or what to expect as far as time goes. My goal is to be established in about 3 years when daughter enters High School.
