Many have asked regarding the
Vickie Milazzo program where, after completion and successfully passing the certification examination, the RN will be recognized and earn the title of
Certified Legal Nurse Consultant (CLNCŪ).
Vickie is a very dynamic person. She is an RN. After practicing as an RN for a six years, she started practicing as a legal nurse consultant. She then decided to return to law school and graduated JD. She started the Institute in 1994 and has since then educated many RNs as CLNCŪ
.
The
Milazzo Institute is the nation's oldest and largest legal nurse consulting training institute and the only publishing company devoted exclusively to this field.
There are 2 ways to certify with this program:
Home Study and
6-Day Course. These are 40 hour courses (the 6-day course awards 42.2 contact hours). Vickie provides the 6-day course several times a year (approximately 6) at various locations throughout the U.S.
To qualify for the course and national certification, the nurse must have a current and unrestricted RN license (
NO BSN required at the time of this writing). It is not necessary to have previous legal consulting experience. The RN is encouraged to have at least 3 years clinical experience prior to taking either course.
