The AALNC conference in Atlanta was awesome. The speakers were dynamic and I had a difficult time selecting which sessions I was going to attend. But several good things came out of the meeting. 1) ANA and the credentialing board accepted the updated "LNC Scope and Standards of Practice"

and we have been accepted as a Nursing Speciality. We were told that it usually takes 5 years to get accepted, but thanks to a dedicated board of directors for the National Association and many, many hours of work, we made it in 2 years. Yes!!!!!! 2) Next year's conference will be in Austin, TX, the last week of April. I hate I didn't get to go to (Vickie's) NACLNC conference. 3) also the ANA and AALNC position statement now says that LNCs must keep a current RN license. I can't wait for next year's conferences.
