Exclamation What does "employer" paid health care really cost...

From AFSCMEMN.org

Steppng up (p.8 volume 2 No.3 May/June 2007)

Family coverage for average Minnesotans costs 32% of their income. (AFSCME Council 5)
Single coverage for average Minnesotans costs 11% of their income. (AFSCME Council 5)
Family coverage for state employees costs 66 hours of pay each month. (AFSCME Council 5)
Single coverage for state employees costs 23 hours of pay each month. (AFSCME Council 5)
$6100 was the average per person cost of health care in the US in 2004. (US Department of Health)
$2250 was the average per person cost of health care in countries with national health insurance in 2004. (Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.)

Our current non-system is costing each of you with a family the equivalent of a mortgage payment each month. This is probably the most concise argument for single payer.
