Great...now they're causing us to lose our jobs...

There are an estimated 12 million illegal immigrants in our country. There's no way we are going to be able to send them all home but is imperative that we stop making life so easy for them while they're here.

A study by the National Academy of Sciences also found that tax payments generated by immigrants outweighed any costs associated with services used by immigrants.

Americans have one of two choices to make, Jacobs said: You can either allow illegal immigrants to continue living in the shadows, unable to participate in the economy or the banking system, or "you can have people who are part of the economy, who are vibrant people, who have full documentation."
...

They are also asking people to submit their own stories and "get on the train," by signing a petition to support immigration reform that: Keeps families together by preserving the current family immigration system and eliminating immigration backlogs.
Brings immigrants out of the shadows by providing a path to citizenship, and helps achieve their positive integration into American society.
Strengthens our economy by creating legal avenues for workers to come, while ensuring that all workers have rights and dignity.
Protects our borders and improves life in border communities by establishing an immigration system that works.Nurse Wynona Stears, an immigrant from Belize, is one of the "dreamers." She says that "most immigrants do good for the country."
"We work hard, we contribute and all we're asking is to have the American dream, to have a good life," Stears says.

Would you be willing to share that with the families of:

Scott Gardner
Leanna Newman and her unborn child
Jasmine Lawrence
Abram Yap
Roy Wade Jr
Ron Bishop
Joshua Morrow (age 4)
Cheryl, Ian, and Julianna Ceran

and many many more.

I wonder how much this cost?

http://www.nctimes.com/articles/2006...2401122509.txt

More than 100,000 undocumented women each year bear children in California with expenses paid by Medi-Cal, according to state reports.

If they are here legally this is wonderful. If they are here illegally THEY ARE BREAKING THE LAW!!!! They should not be rewarded for breaking our laws. The employers should not be rewarded for hiring them PERIOD. They should NOT have access to FREE or LOW COST government sponsored services or goods including schools and healthcare. The people who are here legally should have access and that access should be easier to gain than it is now. Immigrants who are here legally, I have absolutely NO PROBLEM with them. It's those who are here illegally that I have a problem with as they are breaking the law and getting AWAY WITH IT.

Again....this talks about immigrants not "illegal immigrants". This is like comparing apples and oranges. You can quote but you cannot make up the fact to suit you.

It is criminal to sneak into our country illegally and expect to be entitled to the same priviledges that we enjoy because of the millions of Americans's who died to preserve our freedom.

Man, I miss Molly Ivins. She always had such a way of cutting right through the BS and illuminating the ridiculous. Really, really miss her.
