Re: Coding Question

well, i am hesitant to code it iv med because it is sub q..... like the sub q insulin pumps except it has morphine. site is changed every 3-5 days. i am really confused on this one.i did not code it under number of injections under "o" because i do not feel it falls there either...have a call into gina in indy to see if she can shed any light on this question. i have never worked with a pac pump before, so this whole concept is new to me. we had an inservice with our hospice dept today so we all know how to troubleshoot it, etc. and restart if needed.

My bad. I wrongly assumed that the PAC would be IV. If it is subq, then I would not code it as IV med. I'm stretching my memory here, but I believe you would only code as an injection the one day the subq button is injected (inserted) and then anytime you may need to change the site (reinserted)(any of which that would fall into your reference period).
