You may wish to attend an educational session of the Steering Committee on
Telehealth and Healthcare Informatics on Wednesday, October 6th , 3:30 pm –5:00 pm, Room 2105 Rayburn House Office Building regarding: “The “Healthy Community”. The program will focus on ways health care technologies can be used to improve connectivity between health care providers and among community organizations. Several important government and private sector research and implementation projects will be discussed. (Light refreshments will be served)

The Steering Committee is working closely with the House 21st Century Health
Care Caucus; the eHealth Initiative (eHI); and the Healthcare Information
Management and Systems Society (HIMSS) on this important session to help
“connect the dots” regarding many of the issues addressed throughout 2004 by the Steering Committee. Speakers will be announced shortly.

Honorary Steering Committee Co-chairs are: Senators Kent Conrad (D-N.D.); Mike Crapo (R-ID); and Representatives Charlie Norwood (R-GA) and Rick Boucher (D-VA).

Capitol Hill sessions of the Steering Committee are educational in nature and
open to interested public at no cost. Please RSVP regarding the October 6th
event to nealn@hlthtech.com or call (703) 790-4933 so that we may plan
accordingly. For those of you who cannot attend in person, you will be able to
download a copy program presentations and other materials shortly following
various sessions at www.ehealthinitiative.org and www.himss.org/advocacy

Steering Committee organizers are now planning the 2005 program. Inquire about how you organization may become involved.
