ANA's New Policy Concerning Lapsed NI Certification

For details about ANCC's new policy about reactivation of lapsed NI certifications see options below.

If certification expired 2 years ago, you must:
-Meet all continuing education and practice hour requirements within the
previous 5 years.
-Submit renewal of certification fee plus the $100 reactivation fee with your
application.

If certification expired more than 2 years ago, you must:
-Meet all continuing education hour requirements within the previous 5 years
-Retake and pass your specialty certification examination. (The practice option is not available more than 2 years after certification has expired.)
-Submit renewal of certification fee plus the $100 reactivation fee with your
application

Under either option, individuals reactivating DO NOT need to resubmit evidence of eligibility requirements done during initial application for certification. (transcripts, Form E)

Contact ANCC at 1-800-284-2378 if you have questions about this new option.
