Exclamation Pacu

Hello everyone, I am currently working in the PACU at a surgical institute. I am also 2.5 months pregnant. I know I should not be in the OR. However, is it safe for me to be in the recovery area? I can smell chemicals off the patient and sometimes the OR and recovery door is left open. Is this a threat to my baby? I am starting to get alittle nervous. Some people say it's ok but I've read otherwise online. THanks!

Re: Pacu

We also do a lot of x-rays in the PACU so be careful.

Re: Pacu

I agree with the x-ray post... and some of those guys are complete morons and dont give any warning... but in our PACU we have had 2 pregnancies in the last year and both worked right up until the end without problems... (just always running from x-ray lol)
