Need more than RN for this specialty?

I start nursing school in January. I have an initial attraction to this area, but don't know that much about what is required to work in it.

I have a bachelor degree (non-nursing) and will be getting an ADN. Would this type of education (as a baseline) enable me to get into this specialty?

Thanks in advance for your time and responses.

ADN would get you into that speciality, the question is do you need prior nursing experience first? Some hospitals will not hire new grads.

Some hospitals require ICU experience, some will take new grads into the pacu.

OK, so I don't HAVE to have a BSN? An ADN plus experience will work? Cool

That's true where I work as well. ADN is fine...with experience. Personally, I have not heard of new grads in the PACU where I work, usually ICU or ED experience... people really love it! Good Luck!!
