For those in small, rural facilities with a PICC program:
Does your facility require a minimum # of PICC insertions per year to stay competant? If not, how do your PICC nurses maintain and/or demonstrate compentacy?

We are a small (Critical Access) hospital, and we may go months without a request for a PICC, then have two in a month or so.
Not very many to maintain competance...
Any thoughts?
