Re: Wages around the country?

Wisconsin, at a hospital, no experience:
Title salary: $10.45
3rd shift differential on weekdays: $2.00 extra
3rd shift differential on weekends: $3.15 extra
+ benefits
And since I already have to deal with the snow/humidity, I'm thinking I'd better move to Chicago too!

Working at a hospital in So Cal the base pay is $11.00/hour. I've heard Kaiser starts at $15.00 though, as long as you have six months experience.

Re: Wages around the country?

I live in a small town in Washington...I make 10.00/hr with evening shift differential...9.76/hr when I work days and 10.25/hr when I work nights...The cost of living is low compared the coastal part of the state though...A 2 bedroom goes for 600/month.

Re: Wages around the country?

I like http://mysalary.com do Tools -> Salary wizard. No need to join first time. Search on CNA and your prospective zip code. The ranges are broken out by CNA, CNA in a nursing home, CNA in a LTC facility, etc. Click one, hit the back button. Look again. Search again. Good stuff. It certainly fits with what's been my experience and most of the posters in the thread.

Re: Wages around the country?

Try http://mysalary.com It alows searching by job title (CNA, LPN, etc.) and zip code. Then results are broken out by, e.g., CNA in a Nursing Home, CNA in LTC, etc. and with benefits listed seperately. Click Tools => Salary Wizard. No need to register but you might want to register later. Good stuff.
