Hi there!
I have wanted to do CNA work for years, and I hope to be taking a class this fall. :-) I've always liked medicine and psychology, etc, and most things don't gross me out, AND I like to work in tense situations, so I think I'd be good for the job.

However, I do have one problem. I am deathly afraid of throwing up, and if I see somebody throw up, I usually start panicking that whatever they have I'm going to catch and have to throw up. ><
How often does one have to deal with residents throwing up? How prevalant is the stomach flu in LTC? Should I be scaring myself?
One more question, about the class- It's 3 weeks long, all day, in October. I will then be in the middle of one graduate course and an online biology course. How much homework is given in the CNA class, if any? Is it all hands on? I can survive class all day for three weeks because I have the weekends to do schoolwork, but I think it might be a problem if I have CNA hw on top of that.
Thanks,
Grace
