Nurse Aide - Nurse Assistant: What's the difference?

I'm a CNA listed under NY registry. I've worked in GA right after I graduated, and now I moved to NC.
I'm looking for jobs but I don't see any listings for CNA's - but for Nursing Assistants.
My husband says the two are different, I thought it was both the same.

Can someone clarify this for me?

Thanks!

LUcy

As far as I know, "aide" and "assistant" mean the same thing. Here in Oklahoma they are used interchangeably to describe CNAs.

They are all the same. In MN I am a CNA/NA/HHA/RCA/PCA/NAR/CNAR and I'm sure I could come up with a few more if I put my mind to it. When it comes down to certifications I'm a NA/HHA
