Job testing for UNiversity Hospital ?

Hi there - this is my 1st post here

I am a newly graduated CNA and have been called for a position at the University Hospital. The recruiter has me scheduled to test in a week or so. When I asked her what type of test format to expect she said it was a written skills test. She said if my scores were good, then I would meet with HR that day.

Has anyone else had experience with this kind of testing? I am thinking that it would be similar to our States written test, but not sure.

TIA for any thoughts!

I had to do the same thing in order to move on to the next part of my interview with HR as well. Nothing to be nervous about...it is similar to the state written test, except it was only 20 questions. The questions were basic as well, things you should know anyway. (B/P, avg. respiration rates, first signs of skin breakdown, etc.) Nothing to worry about, I'm sure you'll be fine! Good luck with the interview!

Impossible to be specific unless you could find someone who actually took the test at the hospital in question. As other respondent mentioned, the test might be a very short, simplified version of the state test. I had that for my hospital interview. But, I also had a psych test (written), basic reading and writing skills, and others. A lot of testing --- but worth it.

Don't stress, I also had to take a test to land my job. It will be over the things you learned in your CNA course. Like the poster listed above. If it makes you feel more comfortable. Go over the things you learned in class before taking it. My test was 50 problems. I only missed 4 out of 50. So you will do fine.

Hi - just wanted to say thanks for the comments!

I had the test today it was a written skills - kind of like the state test, and then you went on to a customer service skills test.

I git called back to interview with two nurse managers tomorrow (after interview with a HR recruiter today).

keeping my fingers crossed.
