Re: Calling All CNA's!

Good luck to you in school. YOU have already built your foundation by being a CNA. I am still holding faith and determination too just trying to pass the entrance exams.

Re: Calling All CNA's!

Hello all, I have been a CNA for almost a year, and am hoping to be accepted into the RN program this fall. I DO love my job, and all my people I help care for. I work in a LTC facility in Va. Look forward to getting to know everyone here.

Re: Calling All CNA's!

Hello to all CNA's. I have been a CNA since Oct. 2006. I love working with the residents in the nursing home. They really love to see people who cares about them. It feels good inside to care for others in need. I will continue to do my best on the job. Working as a CNA has helped me learn a lot of new things. I live in Mississippi and I plan to further my education in nursing. Good luck to everyone.

Re: Calling All CNA's!

Hello! I'm just joining here. I'll be starting CNA training at the local vocational school on August 20th. I can't wait. I guess I'll mostly be lurking until I actually get some experience, but I thought I'd introduce myself.

My intent is to be an RN eventually but I want to start working and get some other things done in my life before I really dedicate 2 or 3 years of my life to school (depending on how many prereq's they take from my previous college). Also, I really want some experience working at the bedside and doing the real dirty work before I'm sure this is the right - possibly life-long! - career for me to be pursuing.

So hi! I'll be seeing you!

Re: Calling All CNA's!

Hey there~

I am a pre-nursing student at IU. I am excited about becoming an RN. I am equally excited about becoming a CNA in order to, gain experience, earn money, and wear those cute scrubs!

I found a site here on allnurses.com that has online training for CNA's. This was a GODSEND because I don't have the $600 to pay for the classroom training. However, it does not have a way of accrediting my hours of study. I have to have x amount of hours of study before I can even take the test. What do you suggest?

I am going to one of the nursing homes this week coming in order to volunteer and watch some of the CNA's. (INSA)

Please help~

B~

bsaj
I actually recieved my CNA at the hospital where I work. Not all faculities offer this, it is usually at the nursing home just up the street. Good luck. I really think that CNA is very Important. At the school that I am going to they do not require a CNA. THIS is so lacking on the boards side. So many of the ones that are graduating have no clue as to the work that has to be done. THis can not be learned by volunteering. As volunteers are not allowed to do any "on hand" with the pt. Good luck and God bless

Re: Calling All CNA's!

bsaj some hospitals and nursing homes train you as a nurse assistant if you work for them. There is no fee involved. You would be a nurse assisstant not a certified nurse assistant. But if you want to be certified you would have to take the class and take the test.
