I've had idiopathic hypertension since I was 12 years old. I can't remember not being on meds for it. Weight up, weight down, BP didn't really change. Anyway - it's a chronic medical condition, and in order to live, I take medication and will for the rest of my life. It never really effected nursing school, and the only time it effects my nursing career is if I cannot get to a bathroom in the morning. That rarely happens. I get to work early, use the head, and I'm ok. I drink water during the day to stay hydrated. That's it.
