diabetes, SSRIs, and low libido...testosterone treatment?

This is a little embarrassing...but here goes. I have zero libido as of late. Okay, maybe a year?? My interest has declined in the past year to the point that I just have to say no! I also have what's called Type 1 1/2 diabetes. My endo considers it very early Type 1. I take Lantus and Novolog along with Actos. I have been on Lexapro since it came out on the market a few years ago.

I heard a gyn doc at work talk about testosterone treatment for women. Anyone have any insight or experience about this? Should I go to my endocrinologist or a GYN?

They have reproductive endos. That might be the best choice.

SSRI's cause diminished libido. Perhaps that's your problem.

Hello, NurseRoRo,

The members of allnurses.com cannot give medical advice. You need to contact your PCP for this.

Good luck.
