Sperm Wars, interesting book, I am not sure that I believe that human reporduction can be reduced to something that is merely biological though - I'd like to think we are a little more complicated than that.

I'm reading something by James Melville. It's not terribly riveting, after 25 pages, I was able to sleep. BTW, I tend to need this at night. Otherwise, I will stay up all night reading.

Just got done with The Handmaid's Tale, by Margaret Atwood, now reading Pope Joan, by Donna Woolfolk Cross- so far so good, fascinating premise, some say it really happened.

Picked up Rule Number Two by Dr Heidi Squier Kraft. Story of a clinical psychologist in Iraq and her stories of counseling soldiers, nurses, and doctors. She seems like a very compassionate person who truly cares about the well being, mentally and physically, of her subjects. Just started it and it's very good.

I haven't read Vanity Fair but it's on my list.

Also picked up Knowledge and Decisions by Thomas Sowell. It was recommedned to me by a lawyer who says it immensly helped him critically think in law school. Can't start too early I guess. He said it's not too hard to understand.

I also bought Charlie Wilson's War but won't see the movie until I read the book.

Re: What have you been reading lately?

Before I read through this thread I thought I was well read - wrong - I have been inspired with some of the books outlined here and have ordered rule number two - on Bethins recommendation.
My usual authors are the crime writers - Gerritson, Rieches, Slaughter etc I also like the Tory Hayden books - and I have read a couple of Jodi Picoult.
I look forward to expanding my reading base with some of the books recommended.

I have read Torey Hayden's books, too---really, truely amazing. Every teacher should be required to read her books. And every school administrator as well!!!
