Cool new glasses

Ok, not about books, but about reading anyway....I'm getting to that age where I can't read without a pair of reading specs so its been annoying when I am waiting to read out on the porch or on the beach etc. I was browsing downtown today and they had reading sunglasses, and one pair was actually a pair of bifocal sunglasses. They happened to be the magnification I needed so I snapped them up. Read outside this afternoon with my coffee and they worked just great! I loved being able to look up and not have the world blurry and yet being able to read without holding the paper at arm's length! Simple pleasures!

Re: Cool new glasses

For a long while, I couldn't talk my eye doc into prescribing stronger bifocals. (I'm a "hi-myop"--very, very near-sighted). So, I went to the drug store, found the right strength and bought a couple of pair. I wore them ON TOP of my regular specs!

Absolutely GREAT for starting IV's and reading in bed!!! Looks ridiculous! Oh, well. LOL

Re: Cool new glasses

I wear tri-focals, now that's a feat to be learned. Could not do without them. I'll never forget when I first needed plain reading glasses. I was about 46 years old. It had been several years since I had done cross-stitch. I picked up and old project and was like what the heck...where are the holes??? It was a shocker to have to go buy reading glasses. At the time I found some bifocal sunglasses on ebay. Now I have prescription tri-focals and an extra pair tinted for sunglasses.

Re: Cool new glasses

I got some CA-RUTE (cute) glasses a few months back. When I put them on I was like "wow that's what things are SUPPOSE to look like!?) I was also shocked by the price tag. 230 bucks! I got spoiled being in the military and getting a free pair (that I never wore)

I now use them when I drive at night and if I'm reading for long periods of time (studying).
