Anyone read "Outlander"?

A nurse at work was ranting about this book, I just started it. Are there any other good nursing books you know of? Of course I want to read Zurub's book but can't get it anywhere. I got into this whole nursing business by reading "A Nurse's Story" when I was in the fourth grade! I just read it again when I graduated..Jenny Garp comes to mind, too...

I read "A Lamp Is Heavy" when I was in Junior High School and never forgot it. It made me want to become a nurse.

If you mean the Outlander that is the story of Jaime and Claire, heck yeah!!! I've read them all. I love them and I'm waiting not so patiently for the next one in the series. It is my all time fave book series I love how she writes. Finish it and we can have a book group discussion!

Totally agree! Diana Gabaldon is on of my favorite fiction writers.

Okay, wait...that's what everyone says but I am having a hard time getting into it. She's just now gone back in time and is stealing that horse with the two guys, etc etc. How long until it gets good? I need a good book, I'm hoping this is it!
Thanks for the replies!

The first 75 or so pages it drags. As soon as she goes back in time, it starts picking up. I hope you like it.

I'm not the weepy type, but Dragonfly in Amber (Book 2) and Voyager (Book 3) brought tears to my eyes, which totally amazed me!

I agree, the first part of it drags until she's back in time, and then -woah-! Such an awesome series, I read them over and over!

Sadly, this is not a nursing related topic, and I need to move it the Premium Forums--the Book one to be exact.

The Outlander series is really terrific!

when I first started reading the series, I hated her character. Cheating is cheating... but not long into it I was hooked. I have yet to read a breath of snow and ashes. Don't tell me how that one ends.
