Smile RN and RM in UK seeks CNM post in VA

Hi all I am a Registered Nurse (gynaecology) and also a RM (BMedSci) in the UK. I am looking to relocate to VA in June/July 2008 along with my husband and 2 children. I am waiting to take the NCLEX exam and searching for information on applying for visas. Our search is just commencing and any information at all would be extremely greatly received. From applying for a visa, employment salaries for RN and CNM etc.
Thankyou all.

First of all, you do not apply for the visa, you must be sponsored by an employer. There is not one thing that can be done until you actually take and pass the NCLEX exam, as proof of passing is required to be submitted with the petition.

Do you know for a fact that your credentials have been accepted to permit you to sit for the exam?

I suggest that you focus on gettign your requirements completed first, such as licensing process. For the CNM, it is completely separate and cannot be started until after you already hold a license in the US.

Please check out the International Forum and read the stickies at the top of that forum. There is much information there that you will need to know before even starting the process.

Re: RN and RM in UK seeks CNM post in VA

The ACNM website has a page for foreign trained midwives who are interested in becoming CNMs or CMs.

Hope that helps,
Becki
