Presidential cadidates stand on midwifery/ healthcare?

So, I know all the candidates always give lip service to "reducing healthcare costs", etc. Has anyone ever heard any candidate ever bring up the idea of increasing midwifery availability as a much more cost effective method of prenatal care and childbirth?
Anyone know if any of the candidates have ever even mentioned midwifery?
I don't know that much about politics, but I'm starting to become more interested. Just seems like with the "Business of Being Born" movie creating a little buzz (even prompting ACOG to respond), and with a female candidate in the mix, this might be a "ripe" time for midwifery advocates to push their point a little. Get all the statistics in the right hands and all that.
Anyone out there with more knowledge on this topic than I? I looked around the ACNM site a little but didn't see anything. I don't have access to the member only info, yet, though.

I know Hillary endorsed (co-sponsored?) the bill for equal reimbursement for CNMs under medicare. I think you can find a press release on this on the ACNM website.

Not sure about the other candidates because I Hillary.
