Hi All!
I joined this group after reading many helpful posts on this particular board. I am a 23 year old RN working in a level 4 NICU. I have RN experience in LDRP as well. Many of my questions have already been answered from reading other posts, but I do have a couple of addition questions/concerns.
I am applying to distance learning MSN/CNM programs, so far I have found info about SUNY Stonybrook, U Cinncinati, U Philadelphia and of course Frontier. I have read a lot of great things about Frontier and have requested more info from all of these schools, but am wondering if anyone has any insight or experience with any of the above schools. Also, are there other distance learning programs in the country that I have not discovered in my research so far? Does UPENN have a distance learning program for MSN/CNM, they came up on a search but I couldn't find any relevant info on their website. My boyfriend is a medical student so I am doing distance learning because I am not sure if we will have to move in another year for his residency.
Another area of concern that I have is the process of finding a CNM preceptor in my area. Do the schools match me up with someone or do I have to find them myself? How do I know if they are willing to precept a CNM student. I am in Syracuse, NY if that helps....I can't thank you enough if you have made it this far and would be so grateful for any response or advice as I am just starting out in this process. Nice to "meet" all of you and thank you in advance for any guidance you can give me.
