Re: I Got in to Frontier!

hello! I got into Frontier too. I was going to start in June, but they didn't tell me I was accepted until June 3rd, so I was able to defer until December. It works out better for me right now anyway. I can't decide if I want to be a CNM or FNP when I grow up. Maybe I will start with FNP and finish as a CNM. I do not have L&D experience yet..only tele...but I became a RN because I have always wanted to be a CNM. I think I will be cheating myself if I don't become a CNM....

Re: I Got in to Frontier!

Congratulations!

I just got home from Frontier Bound this weekend. It was a very good experience; the school really does have a sense of purpose and its mission is to change health care in this country for the better. I am even more determined to do whatever it takes to be successful and make it through to the end! You will, too!

Hello Goozgog,

I too plan on obtaining my FNP after completing the CNM program. I was advised that it was better to do it this way because if you do it the other way around you're paying more to retake women's health related classes. As in the CNM goes more in depth so it would cover that portion of the FNP program. I do not not have L&D experience either but my passion is midwifery and I feel that it fully compensates. Plus I really dont plan on working in a Hospital setting.

Re: I Got in to Frontier!

hi there! congrats to those of you who have already started the program! I just received notice that i've been accepted for Class 62 - FB in August. I was wondering if anyone else around here will be there too!?!? Also, anyone have suggestions for preceptors in the Gainesville, FL (or north central fl) area? i'm hopeful to get some out-of-hospital experience as I hope to use my skills overseas (Latin America). Thanks for your thoughts!!
