IS a BSN from National University accredited enough for msn

I want to become a certified nurse midwife and I will be attending National University. National University is accredited with WASC and CCNE but people have been telling me it is a low level school like university of phoenix that alot of people dont accept. Does anyone know if a BSN from National University will be accredited enough to get me into a well known university msn program for cnm like ucla or mount st. marys, or even university of san diego.

What about asking the schools you want to attend? Good luck.

CNAlady..I am applying to National U also. If you find out this information, can you please pass it on. I would greatly appreciate it. Also, have you already been accepted into the program there? If so, can you give me some tips on maybe what they are looking for in their personal statement. I have mine written, but am not sure it is gonna be what they want.
Thanks for your help and good luck.

Re: IS a BSN from National University accredited enough for msn

I am considering Yale and USC after I complete LVN-BSN with National. Here is what Yale says:

Requirements for admission for registered nurses include a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and graduation from a school of nursing (approved by the licensing board of the state in which it is located).

Usually under admission requirements, the accredidation needed will be explained. There is no such thing as accredited enough or not. It's either accredited by an acceptable accrediting body or it isn't. National is an accredited university same as Point Loma Nazarene, USD, SDSU. Here is the site to check CCNE accredidation: http://www.aacn.nche.edu/CCNE/reports/accprog.asp

National University
La Jolla, CA
Accredited nursing degree program: baccalaureate
Date of last review for baccalaureate: November 13, 2000
Baccalaureate program accredited through: June 30, 2011
Initial baccalaureate accreditation action: April 21, 2001
Most recent baccalaureate accreditation action: April 21, 2001
Next baccalaureate review: Fall 2010

CNAlady, what cohort are you in? Have you completed your BSN? Are you currently working as an RN? To answer your question, once you complete your BSN degree from NU it will transfer to other institutions. NU is accredited; therefore, once you get your degree you will have just as much leverage as someone from another accredited institution.

Does anyone have a friend/family member who graduated from National University BSRN program? I just got accepted, but I have read nightmare reviews about the professors/instructors on RateMyProfessor.com.
