Hello, naynaycat, and welcome to allnurses.com

Good to have you with us. I moved your post to its own thread in the CNM forum. Please check out this thread, allnurses.com - Helpful Video Tutorials, for helpful information on how to navigate the site.

Also, check out the threads in this forum about the midwifery career. One will be requred to possess an MSN and graduate from a school for nursing midwifery.

We hope you enjoy the site.

Really? I always thought you could start midwifery school after BSN. Isn't the midwifery degree the equivalent of MSN?

Re: Becoming a CNM??

What I mean is to practice as a CNM. If one practices as a Certified Midwife, one will possess an MSN as well as be a graduate of a midwifery program and pass a certification examination.

Re: Becoming a CNM??

Most schools make the CNM program a joint MSN and post-master's certificate in Nurse Midwifery. I have a BSN and have just started back to school to earn my MSN and my post-master's certiificate in nurse midwifery. My program is 2 years full time. Does that make sense? So, yes, you would apply to CNM programs with a BSN.
